Canadian Guitarist and Songwriter Mark Crissinger to Release Believe In Love on September 13

August 15, 2019

Featuring an all-star cast from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, Mark Crissinger’s sixth studio album, Believe In Love blends blues music with country, rock, and acoustic boogaloo.
With the rock steady rhythm section of Jay Stevens on bass and Bill Hicks on drums, Crissinger plays guitar and sings while Darcy Phillips (keyboards),Marty Howe (harmonica), and Pierre Komen (saxophone) add layers and solos to complete the sound.

This is a very fun and straight to the point “blues therapy” type of album. There are many songs we can all relate to and lots of reasons to dance.

“There was a real attempt to get a live vibe going on even though we couldn’t all be in the studio at the same time", says Crissinger. "I always try to mix up the grooves at my concerts and pay respect to tradition while adding my “new blues” sound to every set list. It all feels familiar somehow.”

Mark Crissinger is a 2017 Maple Blues Award nominee who has been entertaining music loving audiences since 1987. Blending traditional

themes, clever lyrics, and modern arrangements, he performs original contemporary blues music revealing his singer-songwriter soul and the blues in his heart.

After moving to British Columbia in 2007 he began to focus on a solo career showcasing his love for songwriting, blues and roots music. Since then, he has released six studio albums and three live collections. He has played countless concerts, pubs & clubs and in recent years played many great blues festivals in Mt.Tremblant, Donnaconna, Orangeville, Victoria Nanaimo, Chemainus, and Pender Harbour.
